Nate DaPore

President and Chief Executive Officer

As the spirited leader of PeopleMatter, a purpose driven company, Nate is passionate about changing the way employers and employees interact in the workplace, and making it better. He is driven to provide team members, including his own, with a rewarding workplace experience that values creativity and continuous innovation. Nate possesses over 10 years of sales, operations and marketing leadership in the human resources and benefits software space.

Prior to founding PeopleMatter, Nate was a principal at Battery Park Ventures, focusing on advising healthcare and technology clients on emerging trends. He served as Vice President of Enterprise Sales at Benefitfocus from the early days as a startup to its rise as the largest employer benefits provider in the US where he led consistent triple-digit, year-over-year growth. Throughout his career, Nate has consistently created, launched and executed unique sales, operational and marketing strategies for SaaS business models and developed teams that yielded remarkable results.

In addition to creating a company that industry analyst firm Brandon-Hall touted as “The only life cycle management solution out there for the service industry,” Nate was recently recognized as the 2011 “Top Up-and-Coming Entrepreneur” by TiE Atlanta—the southeast chapter of the world’s largest non-profit organization for entrepreneurs. Nate is an avid offshore fisherman, private pilot, an active member of Young Presidents’ Organization (YPO) and a board member for the Charleston Digital Corridor Foundation.

Ken Haigh

Chief Operating Officer

As PeopleMatter's Chief Operating Officer, Ken is responsible for driving PeopleMatter's day-to-day-operations, as well as, aligning PeopleMatter's resources effectively, and ensuring tight coordination across products, services, solutions, and architectures.

Prior to becoming COO, Ken served as PeopleMatter's Senior Vice President of Technology and was responsible for the overall design and development of the PeopleMatter products. With more than 16 years of experience in software development, Ken previously served as Director of Software Development at Blackbaud, Incorporated. There, he led an 85-person staff responsible for the design, engineering, and quality-assurance activities for multiple products, including Blackbaud Enterprise CRM and The Raiser's Edge. Prior to Blackbaud, Ken served as the Software Engineering Manager at Intellisync Corporation and was responsible for a team of engineers developing wireless email and mobile software. Ken also was a lead engineer at Lotus Development Corporation.

Ken earned a bachelor's degree in computer science from Clemson University and a Master of Science from the Georgia Institute of Technology. Ken spends his free time with his wife and three children and enjoys playing golf.

Michael LaBorde

Chief Financial Officer

Michael LaBorde is the Chief Financial Officer for PeopleMatter. Reporting to the President and CEO, Michael is a strategic thought-partner and plays a critical role in partnering with the senior leadership team and board of directors. As a hands-on manager, he leads and is responsible for the finance business planning, budgeting, facilities and human resources teams.

With more than 18 years of experience, Michael has held executive leadership roles in both operations and finance for $21M to $2B enterprises. Working with B2B technology companies such as bulbstorm, ShopperTrak andMobilePlanet, he is unique in his ability to motivate team members while strategically managing and analyzing finances.

When he’s not working, you’ll find Michael spending time with his wife, three children and a dog. Family activities include mountain biking and snowboarding.

Ben Nachbaur

Senior Vice President of Sales

As the Senior Vice President of Sales, Ben applies the science of Sales 2.0 to the world of Enterprise and SMB sales. Ben oversees all the Sales Teams, the Sales Development Group, Sales Support and Sales Operations. Charged with rapidly generating business opportunities throughout the nation and beyond, Ben’s high-energy and Sales 2.0 leadership augments PeopleMatter’s unique marketplace advantage. PeopleMatter’s demand generation methodology was created under his direction and he launched PeopleMatter's West Coast presence in downtown San Francisco on July 1, 2011.

As a California native, Ben has spent the last fifteen years exceeding revenue targets and exponentially growing the customer bases of several Silicon Valley-based companies. Most recently, Ben was the Vice President of Sales at Acteva.com where he managed several teams across multiple offices. He has also worked at eWaken Technology, Ensim, and Oracle. Ben’s profile as a sales pioneer is featured in the national bestselling book Sales 2.0.

A graduate of Cornell University in Ithaca New York, Ben loves the outdoors and is a dedicated snowboarder and skier. Other hobbies include backpacking, fishing and beekeeping.

Michael Wright

Vice President of Technology

Michael leads innovation across the company’s SaaS-based product line and defines the software engineering group’s technical direction. Prior to becoming the Vice President of Technology, Michael was the Director of Engineering and led PeopleMatter’s growing team of engineers using the Agile process of development.

Before joining PeopleMatter in July of 2010, Michael was the Software Development Manager for Blackbaud’s CRM Solutions team. In this role he built a high performing software engineering team that created and maintained versions of enterprise solutions. Michael also worked as a Software Architect at AOL where he led a team that developed next-generation user interface toolkit that enabled highly dynamic desktop UI (animations, transitions, desktop compositing) service wide.

As a Clemson Tiger, Michael earned a B.S. in Computer Engineering and a minor in Mathematical Sciences. In his “free” time he can be found doing any type of outdoor activity, such as fishing, running and bike riding, with his loving wife and two beautiful daughters.

Kay Lucas

Vice President of Product Management

As Vice President of Product Management, Kay has a geniune passion for building dynamic relationships by listening to and working with PeopleMatter clients. Her goal is to make sure their needs are met and any challenges are resolved. She works closely with the development team — from requirements to releases — to provide a cutting-edge product.

Kay brings with her more than 20 years of experience in software technology solutions. Most recently, she was the Vice President of Product Strategy & Marketing for Docufree. As ADP’s Vice President of Product Strategy & Quality Assurance, Kay was responsible for the strategic vision for all of ADP’s HR products in the major accounts division, which represented over $200 million in annual revenue. As Employease Vice President of Product Strategy, Kay was a key presenter when the company won key industry awards and recognition. These accolades included being ranked the most visionary company in Gartner’s Magic Quadrant, the Codie Award for Best Human Resources Solution by the Software & Information Industry Association, and the #1 Employee Benefit Information System by Business Insurance Magazine.

Kay holds a B.S. in Business Administration from the University of Florida. She is also an active member of the Society for Human Resource Management. As much as Kay keeps the wheels turning in the office, she can be found biking, running or spending time with her husband, daughter and son outside the workplace.

Senior Vice President of Customer Experience

Mark is responsible for Customer Care at PeopleMatter and leads a team of dedicated, passionate professionals who oversee the Company’s implementation, support and customer relationship functions. With daily customer interactions, Mark enjoys creating and hearing about moments that put a smile on everyone’s face – from the customer to the PeopleMatter team member.

With more than 20 years of experience developing and leading technical support teams, he has worked with ADP, OpenTable and even Uncle Sam as the Data Network Administrator for the Sixth Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals. Mark holds a B.S. in Music Industry from the University of Southern Mississippi and a MBA from Auburn University at Montgomery.

Mark and his family recently relocated to PeopleMatter’s San Francisco office to help build out the company’s West Coast presence and support. When the day is done, you’ll usually find Mark pursuing his hobby as an audiophile, or pulling his trumpet out of the case and looking for a local jam session.

Nancy Sansom

Vice President of Marketing

Nancy leads PeopleMatter’s creative Marketing team and is responsible for demand generation, product marketing, brand, communications and partnerships. She oversees and drives PeopleMatter’s Marketing Strategy while supporting Sales 2.0 methodologies to reinforce company sales growth. By leveraging large strategic and channel partnerships, Nancy focuses on building groundswell within PeopleMatter’s four primary target verticals.

With more than 15 years of experience leading product management and marketing departments in the SaaS industry, she brings a cohesive dynamic to the marketing department. Prior to joining PeopleMatter, Nancy served in many executive leadership roles at Benefitfocus. Most recently, she was the Senior Vice President of Product Design and Marketing where she focused on the design and launch of new products and technology while managing marketing, communications, events, partnership programs and inside sales. Nancy also worked at Cambar Solutions, Allegheny Printed Plastics and PTC Alliance.

Nancy earned her MBA from Carnegie Mellon University and has been a member of Kellogg School of Management’s Executive Education program. Nancy spends her free time lifting weights and spending time with her husband and two sons.

Julie Moreland

Senior Vice President, PeopleClues Division

As Senior Vice President, Julie leads the PeopleClues Division in providing behavioral assessments designed for measuring job fit, attitude and level of engagement of candidates and employees. With 21 years of experience, Julie is a nationally respected authority on practical business applications of assessment technologies.

Before joining PeopleMatter, Julie was the CEO of PeopleClues and the co-developer of several employment assessment products used by thousands of companies globally. She led an international team of Psychologists through a 3-year rigorous review and was awarded an industry-coveted certification from the British Psychological Society for the PeopleClues Assessments.

Julie holds a bachelors degree in Finance from the University of West Georgia with a secondary emphasis on Business Information Systems. In her personal time, Julie enjoys riding her Harley through the Sonoma wine country, spending time with great friends and family on both coasts and playing with her four-legged children Harpo, an Airedale mix and Daizy, a Welsh Terrier.

Gary was named to the 2008 and 2009 Forbes Midas 100 lists honoring the most successful and influential people in venture capital. He focuses on Internet services and software investments. His investments include NexTag (2/3 acq. by Providence Equity), Netli (acq. by Akamai), TimesTen (acq. by Oracle) and KnowledgeNet (acq. by Thompson). Gary currently serves on the boards of Adara Media, Evernote, Jaspersoft, Mule Soft, NexTag, PeopleMatter, Rhythm NewMedia and Voltage Security. He is a board observer and assists with Morgenthaler’s investments in Practice Fusion and Lending Club.

Gary joined Morgenthaler Ventures in 1997. Previously, he served in several roles at Apple Computer, including SVP of Apple’s Power Macintosh Division, VP Sales Americas, and Sr. Dir of Marketing for Apple’s Pacific division (China, Japan, Asia, Latin America, Canada).

Previously, Gary spent seven years at Sun Microsystems as Director of Product Marketing, Director of Asia Pacific Marketing (including a posting in Hong Kong), and as Group Manager of Industry Marketing. Before Sun, he held sales and marketing positions at IBM. Gary began his career as an IC design engineer for TRW’s microelectronics research labs. Gary earned an MBA from Harvard University and a BSEE from the University of California, Los Angeles.

Mike Elliott

Managing Partner, Noro-Moseley Partners

Mike Elliott joined NMP in 2005 with 21 years of successful venture capital investment experience. Previously, Mike spent eight years as a Managing Director of The Wakefield Group, a private venture firm based in Charlotte, North Carolina with an investment focus similar to that of NMP. Mike invested primarily in technology and business services companies, at early and growth stages of development, and has continued that focus at NMP. Currently, Mike represents NMP on the boards of Adaptivity, Appia, FrontStream Payments, MD Sleep and PeopleMatter.

Prior to Wakefield Group, Mike was a Managing Director of NationsBank Capital (now Bank of America Capital Investors), Bank of America’s private equity investment arm, where he managed large financings of later-stage growth companies. He began his venture investment career as a founding partner of NCNB Venture Co., L.P., the venture investment arm of NCNB, the predecessor of Bank of America. During his venture career, Mike has been an active board member and sponsor of several highly successful ventures, including Affiliated Managers (NYSE: AMG), Redgate Communications (sold to AOL), Medic Computer Systems (sold to Misys), OpenSite Technologies (sold to Siebel Systems), and Serologicals (sold to Millipore).

Mike currently serves on the Board of the National Venture Capital Association and has served on the Executive Committee of the NASBIC Board of Governors. He is extensively involved in North Carolina's entrepreneurial community and serves as Chairperson of the CED in Research Triangle Park. Mike received a BS in Mathematics and an MBA from the University of North Carolina, where he was both a Morehead Scholar and Maurice Lee Fellow.

Mitch Mumma

Partner, Intersouth Partners

Mitch Mumma is responsible for the technology portfolio at Intersouth. Having joined Intersouth in 1989, Mr. Mumma has full-cycle venture investment experience. He has held management positions with various companies throughout his career —of those, three were start-up companies, all of which subsequently went public.

Prior to joining Intersouth, Mr. Mumma worked in finance and operations for a high-growth computer hardware and software company. Previously, he worked as a manager in the high-growth business practice at Touche Ross & Company (now Deloitte & Touche). Mr. Mumma is a Director and former chairman of the board of the Council for Entrepreneurial Development (CED). He currently serves on the board of directors of the North Carolina Technology Association (NCTA) and on the advisory board for N.C. State University’s Engineering Entrepreneurs Program. But don’t call him a Wolfpack fan just yet; he is also a member of the advisory board of the Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation at Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business and has served as a mentor to the Kauffman Foundation’s Kauffman Venture Fellows Program.

Mr. Mumma is a frequent speaker on the topic of venture capital and an adjunct professor at the Kenan-Flagler Business School at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he teaches a course on venture capital. He received a B.A. in management science from Duke.

Patricia Wilmot

Executive Vice President of PeopleFirst for Domino’s Pizza

Patricia "Patti" A. Wilmot is Executive Vice President of PeopleFirst for Domino's Pizza, Inc. An executive with the global conglermate since 2000, she is responsible for learning and development, people practices and labor law initiatives for the franchise community.

Starting her career at Alpo Petfoods, Inc., Patti led numerous union negotiations, participated in the selling of strategic business units and was appointed to the position of Sr. Vice President/Human Resources for the Haagen-Daz Company, a subsidiary of Grand Metropolitan. Patti left Grand Metropolitan to lead strategic planning from a human resource perspective for a division of Coors. From there, she joined Brach & Brock Confections as Senior Vice President of Human Resources.

Patti is a member of the National Chamber Foundation (NCF) Board of Directors, a member of the Women's Leadership Forum, and Advisory Board Member for The People Report and serves as a mentor to several professional early career females. Patti holds a degree in Human Resource Management from Hamilton University. She and her husband reside in Plymouth, Michigan.

Phil Fauver

Chairman of the Board of Directors, PeopleMatter

Phil Fauver has more than 30 years of experience directing the introduction, positioning and establishment of leading-edge technology. Most recently, Mr. Fauver served as Chairman and CEO of Employease, Inc.—a full-suite Human Resources solutions company that helped pioneer SaaS adoption in the field. During Mr. Fauver’s tenure, Employease delivered 31 consecutive instances of quarter-over-quarter growth and served more than 2000 corporations and institutions prior to its acquisition by ADP. Currently, Employease/ADP is a $150-million business employing more than 700 people.

Prior to Employease, Mr. Fauver held senior executive positions at PeopleSoft, with responsibilities for U.S. sales, field deployment, recruiting, organizational design and operations. From 1991 to 1999, he served on the CEO’s senior management advisory team and played a leading role in driving PeopleSoft’s growth from approximately $6 million to almost $1 billion in revenue.

Additionally, Mr. Fauver served as president of Dyer, Wells and Associates, a leading provider of software to third-party administrators, life and health insurance carriers, and managed-care organizations. During his tenure, Dyer, Wells doubled in revenues and transitioned from net operating losses to sustained profitability. He represented the company in its sale to Cigna.

Mr. Fauver also served as vice president of sales and marketing at INSCI from 1981 through 1988. INSCI is generally recognized as the pioneer in the development and successful introduction of human resource software solutions for the Fortune 1000. INSCI conducted a successful IPO in 1983.

He graduated from Purdue University with a Bachelor of Science degree in industrial management with a computer science specialization. He later received a master’s degree in finance from DePaul University.

Wayne Hunter

Managing Partner, Harbert Management Corporation

Wayne Hunter joined HMC in 2002 and serves on the boards of Broadsource, Intelliject, Privaris, TapRoot Systems, Unitrends, WindChannel Communications, Yap and PeopleMatter, as well as the Council for Entrepreneurial Development in North Carolina and the Florida Venture Forum. Mr. Hunter was named one of the 25 Most Influential People in Southeast Technology by “TechJournal South.” Prior to joining HMC, he was a founding Managing Director and the head of Wachovia’s Technology Investment Banking Group. In addition, he was a member of Wachovia’s Private Equity/Venture Capital Fund Investment Committee and served on Wachovia’s Investment Banking Management Committee.

Mr. Hunter has more than 20 years of experience working with leading entrepreneurs and venture capitalists in the Southeast. During his tenure in investment banking, he advised on more than 100 financing and M&A transactions totaling $24 billion. His mergers and acquisitions and financial advisory experience encompass the software, I.T. services, communications services and equipment sectors. Mr. Hunter holds a law degree from the University of Alabama School of Law and a Bachelor of Science degree from Auburn University.

Rob invests in technology infrastructure and applications companies at Scale Venture Partners (ScaleVP). In addition to PeopleMatter, he currently serves on the boards of BrightRoll, HubSpot, RingCentral and Scale Computing.

Prior to joining ScaleVP in 2008, Rob was a general partner with Doll Capital Management and invested in leading companies such as Jaspersoft, NeoPath Networks (Acq: Cisco), PGP Corporation (Acq: Symantec), Roamware, VanceInfo (NYSE: VIT), Tapulous (Acq: Disney) and Wikinvest. Before that, he served as Executive Vice President for New Era of Networks (NEON), where he grew the company to $200 million in revenues and helped lead NEON through a successful IPO. Prior to NEON, Rob spent 10 years in executive roles at Sun Microsystems, where he drove growth in a series of new strategic initiatives, including Sun’s success in the Financial Services Industry sector. Rob’s previous experience includes launching Silicon Graphics’ initial workstations and selling timesharing services for McDonnell Douglas (now Boeing).

Rob holds a B.A. in Economics from the University of Pittsburgh. In his spare time, Rob is a Sheriff cliff/mountain rescue specialist and rescue diver. He also serves on the board of Royal Bank of Canada’s investment committee.

Account Executive (Charleston and San Francisco)

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Account Executive is responsible for identifying, developing and closing new business opportunities, while also nurturing customer contacts for the purpose of maintaining the customer relationship and driving referral business. This position requires someone who is confident, tenacious, highly organized, comfortable speaking and presenting to prospective clients, and prepared to be on a highly driven sales team. Outbound Business Development Representative (San Francisco)

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Outbound Business Development Representative is responsible for generating and qualifying new sales leads for the outside sales team. Software Engineer III (Atlanta and Charleston)

Description

A Software Engineer III; a.k.a. SE III; is expected to possess all of the skills and qualifications required of all of the previous software engineer levels. SE III is the first career level position meaning that developers at this level will have a majority of the control over their career path. In addition to being a member of a development team a SE III can be expected to lead a team of 2 to 3 developers on a project.

Responsibilities

Lead a group of developers in implementing large development projects.
Implement large development projects independently.
Assist in training new development members on our development tools, architecture and coding standards.
Assist in the creation of wiki and product documentation.
Assist other PeopleMatter developers by answering questions posted to the PeopleMatter Development Help forum.
Implement new components of the product and as well as serve as a subject matter expert of one or more components in the product.
Work collaboratively with senior team members or independently when researching new development practices or implementing new design patterns.
Assist in validating and cost estimating feature specifications with Design and Product Management.
Monitor the workload of others by assigning appropriate tasks if necessary.
Assist in enforcing and improving coding and functionality standards.

Role and Expectations

The level of SE III is the first career level position at PeopleMatter. A SE III is expected to take ownership of components within the product with the goal of self-directing their career path. While a SE III may work independent they are likely to be leading other developers in implementing large scale features in the product. Junior team members will depend upon a SE III’s guidance not only on the project being led by the SE III but also on any projects being implemented by the junior team member.

When leading a group of developers a SE III is expected to analyze the tasks required to complete a feature, assist in mapping the feature dependencies and assist the team’s Dev lead in assigning tasks to other team members in a manner that will allow the team to complete the feature in an efficient manner.

A successful SE III will demonstrate the ability to complete development projects assigned to them by senior developers or management either independently or as a lead working with other developers. A SE III will demonstrate the ability to evaluate proposed product enhancements and identify possible development conflicts based on product and architectural knowledge. Developers in this role are expected to be self-sufficient requiring almost no guidance from senior team members. A SE III will also act as a senior team member and provide guidance and direction to more junior team members.

Interactions with Design and Product Management will increase in this role as the developer becomes the primary contact for components in the system. A SE III is expected to grow their leadership and technical skills in order to advance to the position of Senior Software Engineer.

Experience and Qualifications

4 year degree in computer science or comparable work experience in software development.
Minimum 3 years of experience in software development.
Comprehensive knowledge of components within the application.
Comprehensive knowledge of C#, web services, and object-oriented concepts.
Experience with implementation of relational databases (Oracle, Sybase, SQL Server).
Strong knowledge of required product lines and software structure, including but not restricted to, assembly contents, database structure, and functional area interaction.
Ability to lead technical development projects.

Customer Support Specialist (San Francisco - PART-TIME)

Position Summary

The Customer Support Specialist provides front-line, first-response support via telephone and live chat to all customers using PeopleMatter services. This role works closely with the Client Experience Team to ensure all requests for assistance are handled effectively, timely, and in a way that creates wonderful and memorable service experiences.

Duties and Responsibilities

Provide basic troubleshooting and usage assistance to PeopleMatter customers via telephone and live chat.
Open and assign trouble tickets to Client Experience Managers for issues that can’t be solved in a single phone call or chat session.
Transfer calls, as appropriate.
Respond to voice and email messages left by customers, as needed.
Accurately record information about each handled service request, using provided Customer Relationship Management software.
Recognize and alert supervisors to trends impacting customer service.
Recommend process improvements, and collaborate with other PeopleMatter team members to identify and resolve issues.
Adhere to all company policies, procedures and business ethics codes.
Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Outstanding verbal communication skills
Strong reading, writing and math skills, usually acquired through college-level education. College degree preferred, but not required
Strong problem solving and analytical skills
Must be able to work from a home office equipped with high-speed Internet access
Strong experience with computer applications including the Microsoft Office suite and Web Browsers
Some experience using or troubleshooting smart phone applications (iPhone and Andriod preferred)
Bilingual Spanish preferred
Ability to remain poised and calm when faced with difficult situations
Ability to use empathy, inquiry, courtesy, and a proactive, outcome-focused approach to solving issues, both verbally and in written communication
Ability to work effectively both as part of a team and independently
Aptitude to learn new software applications quickly
Ability and willingness to work varying shifts, including weekends
